What went well?

This is one of my favorite loaves. It's got a really nice, subtle turmeric flavor balanced with slight sweetness from the walnuts and hazelnuts. Crust is amazing!

What didn't?

I am always experimenting a little with this recipe, so stay tuned.

Other notes

This loaf is inspired by a turmeric veinnese bread they used to have at Maison Kayser (RIP US subsidiary). I combined the dough recipe from the Perfect Loaf's Simple Weekday Sourdough with the build/bake instructions from the Perfect Loaf's Cranberry Walnut bread recipe. I always halve the recipe because I typically only bake 1 loaf a time. For this loaf, I add 5g turmeric when mixing the flours (and before I add any water). Then I fold in 100g toasted hazelnuts and 100g toasted walnuts during the 2nd stretch and fold.

Wow! Did you work from your own recipe or just free style this?

I just updated with some detail on the recipe, but basically frankenstein'd two Perfect Loaf recipes to make this happen. I've been pretty lax on documenting details when I bake, so truth be told things are a little different each time!
